Meet Ely, my friend in Toastmasters club who has inspired me to create meeting theme called "Dancing In The Rain". You know why would people want to learn to dance in the rain? Because they don't just wait for bad things in their life to go away, instead, they take challenges head on, to face the inevitable storms of life and enjoy the journey.
What makes Ely special to me? It's her life journey, that she had been struggling to keep moving forward, all the way in doing what she believes. She joined Toastmasters a year ago, as she shared her story in her BM3 project, that she had trough many difficult situations, that eventually made her wiser.
Ely is a doctor. What inspired her to become a doctor is her mother who's suffering long-time illness. When she was pursuing her degree, she realized that she had no money, so she did everything to save money, to pay her medical school tuition. She took private course teachings, she taught almost every subjects, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and even Accounting.
Often she felt extremely tired, with the conditions she had in her school and home, that she felt want to give up. Until one day she met her father's best friend who dropped inspiring line.
He told her, "I've never seen a girl with such heavy rain her eyes like you, my dear. Keep dancing in the rain and I believe that she who had the most heaviest rain will bring the most beautiful rainbow".
From that moment, she always kept in mind to embrace any problems, to face it instead of waiting for it to go away. Learn yourself to dance in the rain, that way you'll notice there's a beautiful rainbow over the rain.
